President Karzai Orders Investigation
into the Kunar Incident

Arg, Kabul - H.E. Hamid Karzai, President
of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, ordered the authorities
at the Ministries of Interior and National Defense in cooperation
with the Coalition Forces to investigate the death of seven
Afghan civilians in the province of Kunar.
According to reports, seven Afghan civilians were
killed and three wounded in the province of Kunar during a military
operation against the enemies of Afghanistan involving Afghan
and coalition forces.
The President expressed his regret at this unfortunate
incident and instructed the security forces to be highly cautious
and avoid civilian casualties during their military operations
against the terrorists.
The President expressed his heartfelt sympathies
and condolences to the families of the victims
