President Karzai Makes a Phone Call to
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

Arg, Kabul - H.E. Hamid Karzai, President
of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, made a phone call to
his H.E. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of the Republic
of India and expressed his and the Afghan people’s deepest
sympathies and condolences for the massive loss of lives due
to Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.
The President said that the Afghan people felt
the pain of the Indian people because the Afghan people have
also suffered tremendously at the hands of the terrorists. The
President said that he wanted to convey the feelings of the
Afghan people to the people of India and to express support
at this difficult moment.
“India is too great, too cultured and too
ancient a nation to suffer a terrible violence such as Tuesday’s
attacks. These attacks show that terrorism is our enemy and
that we all need to join hands stronger than before to defeat
terrorism.”
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh thanked the President
for the phone call and expressed his gratitude for the Afghan
people’s friendship and support. He concurred the President
that fighting our common enemy “terrorism” requires
that we join hands and fight this menace decisively.
