President Karzai Leaves for Germany to
Receive Die Quadriga Award

Kabul - H.E. Hamid Karzai, the President of the
Transitional Islamic State of Afghanistan, left today on a one-day
visit to Berlin, Germany, where he will be awarded this year’s
Die Quadriga, or ‘United We Care’ award.
Die Quadriga is a prestigious award given every
year on 3 October, Germany Unity Day, in the city of Berlin.
Every year, the award goes to four personalities of outstanding
accomplishment in the spheres of politics, economics, society
and culture. This year, the President of Afghanistan and the
Prime Minister of Turkey, H.E. Tayyip Edrogan, are among those
honoured with Die Quadriga - United We Care.
The ceremony of the award will be attended,
among other prominent personalities, by H.E. Gerhard Schroeder,
the Chancellor of Germany.
