Ms. Riga Sadeq
Programs Manager

As a Programs Manager Ms. Sadeq is responsible for event management, human resources, education and mental health issues, administrative duties and office management. Event management responsibilities involve the planning and execution of all Embassy events; this consists of managing financial and logistical aspects as well as ensuring the events run on schedule. Human resources involve processing salaries, rent payments, health and dental insurance and maintaining attendance records. As an education and mental health liaison Ms. Sadeq interacts with students from Afghanistan and in the US by assisting with student visa issues, maintaining relationships with local organizations to promote Afghan students, address inquiries regarding any education or mental health related issues. Ms. Sadeq is also in charge of the Embassy internship program which offers full and part time internship positions to US students year round. Some of Ms. Sadeq’s administrative duties and office management include accounts payable for both the Embassy and consulate, maintaining up to date financial records, employee health insurance plans, and reducing monthly expenses.

Ms. Sadeq has seven years of event planning and management experience with Allure Consulting and SDH Enterprises, Inc. Ms. Sadeq graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising San Francisco with a degree in Visual Communication & Space Design and is currently pursuing her BSBA in Marketing from American University, Washington DC. She is fluent in Farsi and English.
