Mrs. Khatera Hotaky-Atayee
Third Secretary and Protocol Officer
Mrs. Khatera H. Atayee was appointed as Third
Secretary of the Embassy of Afghanistan in September 2005 and
continues her work as Protocol Affairs Officer. From January
2002 to September 2005, she served the Embassy as Cultural/Consulate
Affairs and Protocol Officer.
Mrs. Atayee manages the Embassy’s protocol
affairs, her portfolio includes: greeting high-level dignitaries,
preparing detailed itineraries for visiting officials, preparing
logistics of Ambassador’s travel plans, arranging various
meetings for Embassy personnel and organizing Embassy events.
She also coordinates official trips of the President and Foreign
Minister. Mrs. Atayee works closely with the Protocol Department
of the US Department of State on all Embassy-DOS logistical
issues.
Mrs. Atayee graduated from Herman-Nohl College
(Hildesheim, Germany) with a degree in Dental Medicine. She
is fluent in Dari/Farsi, English, German and Russian.
