President Ghani Observes International Human Rights Day

In a ceremony at Amani High School in Kabul, President Ghani commemorated International Human Rights Day.

In his remarks, President Ghani said that poverty, deprivation, and violence are among the biggest threats to human rights in Afghanistan. He expressed his wish that all Afghans live in safety and stability and asked religious scholars, tribal leaders, and civil society to work with him.

The President also made a strong condemnation of terrorist acts that threaten Afghan lives on a daily basis, and asked for Afghan society to stand against them with a united moral voice.

"Peace is a vital need in our community" concluded President Ghani.
