Ambassador of Afghanistan to the United States Said T. Jawad
Thanks American Soldiers on Veterans Day
Today, I, along with the citizens of Afghanistan, would like to extend my sincerest thank you to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces for their service and bravery, especially those who have fought alongside the soldiers of the Afghan Army, and on behalf of the people of Afghanistan.
To the families of those who have lost loved ones in Afghanistan, words can not express my gratitude for the service of your family member. Your soldiers are heroes, and the courage these men and women have demonstrated; fighting and dieing for honor, democracy and freedom, the world over is in measurable.
As we honor the bravest of souls this Veterans’ Day, I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and sincerest thank you for their service. Afghans have been fortunate to enjoy tremendous support from many great American veterans. In the example of such tremendous dedication, our country strives toward independence and equality for all.
My family and I know the courage and resolve required to devote one’s life to the service of others. This Veterans’ Day, Afghans the world over, join our American partners in keeping our hearts and minds with all the soldiers who have fallen, and strive to reflect in our actions the gratitude these heroes have profoundly earned.
