Ambassador and Mrs. Jawad welcomed the
Harvard Club of Washington DC (HCW) to the Embassy of Afghanistan on November 9. The guests included Harvard alums who lived in Afghanistan in the 1960’s and those who have recently graduated and are interested in Afghan culture. Ambassador Jawad gave a brief history of Afghanistan then opened the floor for questions. The Harvard graduates showcased their knowledge and interest towards Afghanistan and its people.
HCW, chartered in 1883, serves the interests of Harvard University, its graduates, and students in the Washington metropolitan area. HCW sponsors social and educational programs for alumni in and around the nation's capital. In addition, HCW works throughout the Washington area to enhance the welfare and reputation of Harvard, raise scholarship funds, and assist the admissions process by interviewing area applicants to Harvard College.
