President Karzai Calls Survivors of the Kandahar and Helmand Incidents
Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, spoke yesterday evening on the phone to the survivors and relatives of the victims of the two incidents in the provinces of Kandahar and Helmand and expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to them.
During these telephone conversations, the survivors of these incidents complained to the President about the lack of security in their areas. They asked the President to urge NATO forces to take maximum caution during their anti-terrorist operations and avoid harming civilians.
Aid distribution to the families and relatives of the victims started this morning and the President has also instructed the Governors of Kandahar and Helmand provinces to see what other assistance the Government can provide to them.
The President instructed the Ministry of Health authorities to do their utmost in treating the injured.
The President also called the Kandahar hospital authorities to enquire about the health of the injured and prayed for their full and speedy recovery.
