Project Artemis Seeks Afghan Businesswomen
Thunderbird University’s Project Artemis is seeking potential candidates for their third class of Afghan female entrepreneurs.Project Artemis is a unique business-skills training program that aims to build the entrepreneurial skills of promising Afghan businesswomen. Thirty women from Afghanistan have participated in the two sessions of Project Artemis, held in 2005 and 2006. Participating women receive two weeks of business and entrepreneurial decision-making training, mentorship by U.S. women entrepreneurs, and site visits to U.S. businesses. Following their return to Kabul, these entrepreuers are encouraged to apply their newfound schools to local initiatives, and receive continued support and business coaching online
Thunderbird’s private-public partnership includes the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council, the Business Council for Peace (BPeace) and the Afghan Women’s Business Federation (AWBF).

Applicants do not need to speak English, but they do need to be literate in Dari. Applications can be filled out in either Dari or English. Women outside of Kabul are strongly encouraged to apply.
