Ariana–Boeing Deal Sealed: Flights Commenced

Ariana Afghan Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, recently launched flights from Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Kabul in January after receiving a Boeing 757-200 aircraft the airline (leased from Boeing Capital Corporation).  Ariana also announced that it will soon start flying to major European cities including Paris, London and Frankfurt.

The lease is part of a fleet renewal plan that Boeing and Ariana finalized in November 2005.  The plan also included a direct purchase of four Next-Generation 737-700 airplanes that will be delivered beginning 2009 as well as an advanced training package for Ariana's flight and cabin crews and maintenance and engineering staff.

Ariana’s fleet renewal is part of a long-term plan to rebuild not just the airline, but also Afghanistan's aviation and transportation infrastructure.  For more information or to book your Ariana flight today please visit: .
