President Karzai Condemns the Killing
of Two Italian Soldiers

Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President
of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemned the
terrorist attack on NATO peacekeeping soldiers in the outskirts
of Kabul, killing two Italian soldiers and wounding four others.
According to reports, two Italian soldiers on
patrol to ensure the security of the people of Afghanistan were
killed and four wounded when their vehicle was hit by a roadside
bomb in the south of Kabul on Friday.
In his reaction to the news the President said
“This cowardly attack was the work of the enemies of Afghanistan
who are trying to disrupt the peace process in Afghanistan by
spreading chaos and terror in the country.”
“This abominable act of cowardice by the
enemies of Afghanistan will only engender in the people of Afghanistan
the undying hatred of terrorism. The enemies of Afghanistan
must understand that their defeat is inevitable.”
President Karzai, on behalf of the people
of Afghanistan, expressed his deepest condolences to the families
of the victims and to the people and Government of Italy.
