Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President
of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, called the death of
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi a severe blow for terrorism and a major
success in the war on international terrorism.
In his reaction to the killing of Zarqawi the
President said “Zarqawi and his terrorist organization
were responsible for the killing of thousands of Muslims in
Iraq and in Afghanistan.”
“Zarqawi’s death is not the
end of terrorism in the world, but a significant step in ridding
the world of the menace of terrorism. This success should encourage
us all, both in the Muslim world and beyond, to continue and
step up our common fight against terrorism.”
