President Karzai Condemns the Killing of Hajji Mursalin

Arg, Kabul - H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemned the killing of Hajji Mursalin in Manugai district of Kunar province.

According to reports, the enemies of Afghanistan killed Hajji Mursalin while he was praying in a mosque in the province of Kunar on Friday.

Hajji Mursalin was an influential tribal chief who have made selfless efforts to ensure security and create a friendly atmosphere among the people of Kunar province.

In his reaction to the news the President said “I am deeply disturbed by this act of terror. This is an attack on Islam and no Muslim would kill another Muslim during prayer.”

“This is the work of the enemies of Afghanistan who are fearful of our influential leaders’ key role in the reconciliation programme and therefore they want to commit such heinous acts of cowardice.”

The President ordered the relevant authorities to identify the perpetrators of this heinous act of terrorism and bring them to justice.

The President expressed his deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of the victim.
