It was with deep sadness that I learnt of the passing of the great national figure of political and cultural personality, Mr. Ajmal Khattak in his residence due to an illness he was suffering
May Almighty Allah Bless His Soul
Ajmal Khattak spent most of his life in the areas of promoting politics and culture. Mr. Khattak is the author of several books of poetry and prose in Pashto. He became a well-known name in the Pakhtun society because of his contributions to literature and politics.
President Karzai considers his death a "great loss" and expresses his heartfelt condolences to his family and to the cultural, political and literature community.
I pray to Almighty Allah that his soul may rest in peace.
