US Will not Repeat the Mistake of Turning its Back on Afghanistan

03 September 2010 - US Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates emphasized that the US learned a lesson in turning its back on Afghanistan in 1989, and said they had no intention of doing so again.Talking to reporters following a meeting with H.E. President Hamid Karzai Secretary Gates said the US would stay in Afghanistan after July 2011, when the gradual and conditions-based withdrawal of US troops would begin. He repeated President Obama’s stance and intention that said US will not be turning off the lights next July, but rather staying engaged in fighting the Taliban. (Read More...)

So there's a war in Afghanistan, so they use disinformation and misinformation and propaganda in different ways. But at the same time, we have hundreds and thousands of messages of support for what you have accomplished, what you have done in here, so we've been here for a long time.
