06 September 2010 - In an event with the friends of the late Ahmad Shah Massoud at the Cherry Blossom Hall in Virginia H.E. Ambassador Jawad spoke before 200 people of the Afghan community recognized the significant contribution of the late Massoud in fighting tyranny and terror and commended his sincere vision in seeking to build a pluralistic, prosperous and united Afghan nation. US Will not Repeat the Mistake of Turning its Back on Afghanistan

03 September 2010 - US Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates emphasized that the US learned a lesson in turning its back on Afghanistan in 1989, and said they had no intention of doing so again.Talking to reporters following a meeting with H.E. President Hamid Karzai Secretary Gates said the US would stay in Afghanistan after July 2011, when the gradual and conditions-based withdrawal of US troops would begin. He repeated President Obama’s stance and intention that said US will not be turning off the lights next July, but rather staying engaged in fighting the Taliban. (Read More...)

Jawad was interviewed by Wolf Blitzer and stated "A few hard-working, ethical Afghan that is in the Afghan government are subjected to a broad campaign smear both by the opportunists inside the government, and the fanatics outside the government. So there's a war in Afghanistan, so they use disinformation and misinformation and propaganda in different ways. But at the same time, we have hundreds and thousands of messages of support for what you have accomplished, what you have done in here, so we've been here for a long time.
